Walter Robinson, MD, MPH
Distinguished Scholar/Advisor

Dr. Robinson is currently Chief of the Division of Pulmonology at IWK-Grace Health Centre in Halifax, Canada. Prior to that, Dr. Robinson was an Assistant Professor of Social Medicine and Pediatrics as well as Associate Director of the Division of Medical Ethics at Harvard Medical School, where he directed the Fellowship in Medical Ethics program for five years. At CAE, Dr. Robinson is principal investigator on two NIH grants focused on understanding the illness demands and needs of adolescents and adults with cystic fibrosis. Dr. Robinson’s research focuses on ethical issues in chronic illness and the moral demands of professional practice and research. His recent publications have appeared in The New England Journal of Medicine, Ethics and Behavior, and The Journal of Clinical Ethics. He is currently working on a book on the social and ethical issues in the care of persons with cystic fibrosis.
